Lots of Stuff

Did you know there is a lot of preparation involved in a 6 month trip? Yuck! I spent a couple of hours on the phone with the phone people, the insurance people, the credit card people. There are many people you need to speak to to take care of your shit. In less than a week we will be on a plane and the adventure will begin. Again. It is always an adventure. California has been an adventure, and a fantastic one!

Busy Busy

I just got back from a weekend in San Fransisco. It was great! I stayed with my good friend Kate and it was just like we were back at Swells, including the great food. I am not going to lie, it was fantastic, and there was a lot of it! Crepes, ice cream, Thai Food, Pizza. We hit up all the sights, Golden Gate Bridge, Marin Headlands, Sausalito, the Castro, and we even went paddle boating in Golden Gate Park. It was fabulous! A great weekend all around.

Books...A tragedy

Eeny, meeny, miny, moe...I will take.....Who? Do I take the novels to keep me company? Or my reference books to aid me in my endeavors? The really tough part will be when push comes to shove and I have to decide between a book or a pair of shoes. I guess it will depend on the book, or the shoes.

My Clothes!

Dear Clothes,
I will miss you. I am sorry I have to leave so many of you behind. I am not abandoning you. My friends will come over any look through you. Some of you will find new homes, be loved and worn by new people. Some of you will be going to Goodwill and find a place with someone who really needs you. I am sorry I can not keep all of you. If you would like to be proactive you can write the airline and protest the weight limit.
Best Wishes,
Jules

Concreteness

Oh Dear God! We bought the tickets. It is happening! So excited. Bulent has told me that he will provide me with as many airsickness bags I may need, as I get so nervous I make myself sick. We are flying out of SD on 2/1 to NH, spend some time with my family, then off to Turkey we go. I have to say, it is a pain in the ass to fly with a dog. The hoops they made me jump through, I felt like a tiger at the circus jumping through hoops of flames. I am still singed.

Wheeee!

I still can't believe that it is actually happening. It will all become more real after I buy my plane tickets. And sell my car. Does anyone want a Dodge Stratus? Please? I keep remembering when I went to Europe the first time with my cousin. I was going to Spain and was so excited. Except I kept throwing up. I was so afraid I was not going to be able to go, and then my college roommate at the time told me I probably wasn't sick, just nervous. I was so nervous about my exciting trip that I threw up for 2 days. Thank goodness it stopped by the time I got on the plane. The lesson I have learned is to breathe....and not throw up.
