A place to call home

I have been getting phone calls and emails from people... many of them somewhat incredulous. It is true that I am going to Turkey for a while, to visit the country, not the bird. We will be staying in Bulent's sister's home and using her car, thanks to her incredible generosity. To answer the many questions I have recieved I posted photos of the house and car, as well as some picture of Bulent's grandmother's summer house. The house we will be staying in is a brand new three story condo with a rooftop terrace. We will be able to use his parents summer house which is in Marmaris about a half a mile to the sea. We will also be visiting his grandmother in her summer home which is about 20 miles from Izmir.

I am getting very excited about trip, I finally am going to get to spend some extended time traveling!

One step at a time

And those steps right now are furniture and a car! Who wants to buy a car or a couch? I am trying to become unencumbered before we traipse across the world. It has been decided we will leave San Diego in late January and spend February in New Hampshire. This will be Bulent's chance to meet my whole family, a legion of people. Through we have been dating four years, he has not met most of my family. There have been many reasons, but now it will happen. I think that my family believes that he does not really exist, as few of them have every seen physical evidence. To them he is Bigfoot.

Trying Again

As some of you may know, I have another completely uninspired blog. Well,I am trying again, starting fresh. I am hoping to post more as my life is taking some interesting turns. Soon (date to be determined) I will be going to Turkey with Bulent. I will be leaving in early spring, spending some time visiting family on the East Coast ending up in Turkey. There will be challenges, and as the up tight perfectionist from the East Coast there will be some culture shock, also living life casually, meaning no firm set long term plan will be...interesting to say the least. Here is to living life by the seat of my pants.
